Collaborative Design Project | Nashville Zoo at Grasmere
AUTISM project is a collaborative project between Vanderbilt University Autism specialists, the Nashville Zoo at Grasmere, and MJ DeYoung Design. The service project enables people on the autism spectrum to enjoy the zoo animals and exhibits in a way that provides the best chance for a successful day. The project is designed to encourage quality time between guest and their caregiver. The project includes a variety of aides for people on the autism spectrum including timed zoo tours, visual schedules and textual stories. Guests are also able to download visual schedule materials in order to create their own self-guided zoo tour schedules.
